'The View from Here' at artsdepot

May 25, 2015

The show presented the artist's site-responsive works from her ongoing London series, including Muswell Hill, Kilburn, Tottenham, and Trinity Buoy Wharf in Docklands. On the gallery floor was a specially created large scale map of the area around the gallery. Made from recycled paper collected from the venue and local schools and residents, it included individually cut elements showing architectural features sited approximately where the artist found them on the streets of North Finchley. Throughout the duration of the exhibition visitors were invited to put themselves 'on the map" and customise pre-cut recycled paper people, trees and vehicles to populate the map.

This exhibition was funded by the Esme Fairbairn Foundation .
